Yotsanan Campaigns in Uttaradit and Phrae, Locals Greet with Durian Garlands, Appeal to Elect a Northern Leader as Prime Minister

Yotsanan campaigned in Uttaradit, where locals welcomed him with garlands made from Lin and Long durians from Lap Lae before he spoke in Phrae province. Speaking in the Northern dialect, he appealed for voters to elect a Northern descendant as prime minister. Meanwhile, Nattawut energized Phrae voters to choose Pheu Thai for a landslide victory in the election.

At 12:45 on 29 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at the campaign rally held at the Phrae Provincial Administrative Organization Stadium, Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai party’s prime ministerial candidate, led a delegation to Phrae province to support Pheu Thai’s candidates for the three parliamentary constituencies: Mrs. Phuwasa Sindhuwong No. 2 for constituency 1, Dr. Niyom Wiwatthanaditkul No. 2 for constituency 2, and Mr. Worawat Ueapinyakul No. 2 for constituency 3.

The atmosphere was lively. As soon as Yotsanan arrived, welcoming locals approached to offer their support, presenting local specialties such as crispy pork skin, chili paste, rolled gold snack, and crispy rice crackers fashioned into garlands as a warm greeting.

On stage, Yotsanan greeted the crowd warmly in the Northern dialect, saying, “I’ve come to report in, brothers and sisters of Phrae.” He then presented Pheu Thai’s key policies aimed at immediately revitalizing the quality of life in Phrae if elected after the 8 Feb election, emphasizing that all policies are centered on the people's interests.

Urgent policies announced at the rally included comprehensive debt relief, focusing on supporting the elderly to regain independence without burdening their descendants; water management to resolve chronic flooding that Phrae residents have faced from 1995 through 2025, viewing this as a national priority. Pheu Thai is ready to oversee watershed conservation nationwide and manage the entire water system immediately. In agriculture, beyond a 30% crop insurance policy, the party aims to promote product processing to add value, with Pheu Thai candidates already acting locally to assist farmers facing crop price crises.

Regarding tourism and the local economy, the party plans to upgrade renowned products such as furniture and woodcraft. If in government, it will promote these local specialties worldwide to showcase that products from Phrae are of the highest quality.

Towards the end, Yotsanan urged Phrae residents to unite once again with Pheu Thai, saying, “Choose Yotsanan, send a Northern descendant to be prime minister, and vote overwhelmingly for Pheu Thai parliamentary candidates.”

Nattawut Saiyakeua, Pheu Thai’s campaign assistant, spoke about the democratic election mission, comparing the political situation: after power shifted to the “Blue government,” the “mouse” became a “lion” by consuming “orange,” growing stronger, but despite eating orange, switching to “red” was impossible because red is not a “horned deer” easily captured.

“For this election, I urge Phrae residents to consider carefully. Some have switched parties but do not clearly state their new affiliations. Don’t be easily deceived. Remember the numbers and party names well. Vote decisively for Pheu Thai and send Professor Dr. Yotsanan to be prime minister.”

At 14:30 on the same day at Uttaradit Provincial Hall, Yotsanan campaigned to support Ms. Anchisa Suparakjinda, Pheu Thai candidate for Uttaradit constituency 1 No. 3; Mr. Warut Siriwat, constituency 2 No. 5; and Mr. Rawi Lekuthai, constituency 3 No. 1. Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Pheu Thai party list candidate, also joined the campaign. The event was energetic, with a full crowd attending the rally.

Upon arrival, Yotsanan was warmly embraced and photographed by supporters who presented him with flowers, marigold garlands, and garlands made from Lin and Long durians from Lap Lae, Uttaradit. Receiving the durian garland, he remarked that he had never experienced such a campaign moment before, saying it made his neck stiff due to the heavy garland hanging around it.

Yotsanan then spoke, stating he came with candidates from all three constituencies. Uttaradit residents supported Pheu Thai since 2001-2005 and the People's Power Party in 2007, and have since supported Pheu Thai across the province. He asked for another chance to work hard for Uttaradit. Pheu Thai’s policy to assist farmers includes assigning Mr. Somsak to oversee improving prices for rice, sugarcane, corn, and durian, whose prices fluctuate with demand. They cannot just be stored but must be promoted to the global market.
