Advance Voting Procedures for 2026 Election: How to Prepare Before Entering the Booth on 1 Feb

Urgent check before entering the advance voting booth on 1 February: How to prepare to mark your vote for your preferred candidate and party without losing your rights. Reminder: No referendum ballot will be provided.

On 29 January 2026, eligible voters who have registered for advance voting via the Smart Vote app, the Department of Provincial Administration website, or by applying at the district office must specify whether they want to vote "outside their home province" (where they currently reside) or "within their home province." Remember, you must exercise your voting rights on 1 February 2026.

Check your name and polling location

It is important that as the advance voting day approaches, voters verify their name and polling place to be sure where to go. You can check your MP election eligibility on the Department of Provincial Administration website by clickinghere

Steps on voting day

  • Check the voter list: Find your number on the board outside the polling station or quickly check via the app.
  • Show identification: Present your ID card (or other government-issued photo ID with your ID number, such as a driver’s license or digital ID card in the ThaID app).
  • Receive ballots and envelope: Officials will give you two ballots (one for constituency and one for party list). If voting outside your home province during advance voting, you will also receive an envelope to place your ballots in.
  • Enter the booth and mark your preferred candidate's number.
  • Place ballots in the envelope and seal it (for out-of-area voters only): Fold your ballots, insert them into the envelope, seal it, and have an official sign across the seal.
  • Cast your vote: Deposit the sealed envelope (or ballots directly if voting within your home province) into the ballot box yourself.

Advance voting is usually busier than usual. It is recommended to go in the morning and double-check the candidate numbers for your residential constituency because numbers differ by district. Candidate names are not listed on the ballots. Also, there will be no advance referendum voting on this date; the referendum can only be voted on the official date, Sunday, 8 February 2026.
