Thammanat spoke at a Nong Bua Lamphu rally alongside Chaiya Promma, announcing their determination to reclaim their dignity as political fighters and return to parliament under the Kla Tham Party. They expressed belief that, if appointed ministers, they would serve the country well and were confident in winning all three districts as they had in Phayao.
At 6:00 p.m. on 29 January 2026, Kla Tham Party held two campaign rallies at Sribunruang Wittayakarn School in Sribunruang District and the bus station market in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, attracting a large crowd of attendees. Present were: Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, Kla Tham Party's advisory chairman and prime ministerial candidate, who took the stage to lead support for the party's parliamentary candidates in the area, including: District 1 candidate Chayanan Kettumek, District 2 candidate Chaiya Promma, and District 3 candidate Pannarong Ninnama.
Chaiya said the event was not just a campaign but an opportunity to open their hearts to the people, showing that the Kla Tham Party and he himself were ready to serve the public again. Over more than 30 years as a representative, he had always upheld sincerity, honesty, and responsibility to the people, doing everything possible to the fullest, and when unable, explaining reasons straightforwardly, a principle he has always followed.
During his speech, Chaiya explained why he decided to join Kla Tham Party. He said that although he had fought and pushed policies beneficial to the people with full effort, the political context prevented structural reforms from progressing as intended.
"I had the opportunity to serve as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives for only seven months, but I devoted myself fully, working daily to solve farmers' problems. Yet, I was removed without clear explanation. To this day, I still ask myself what I did wrong. I admit honestly that the experience was painful and disappointing, but I have never lost faith in working for the people. Today, I ask the people of Nong Bua Lamphu for another chance."
Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat said Kla Tham Party's policies focus on solving issues related to agricultural land, converting SPK 4-01 land to agricultural title deeds, addressing sugarcane problems, curbing illegal agricultural imports, zoning sugarcane purchases, and water management. He emphasized that Kla Tham differs from other parties by acting more than talking.
He added that Chaiya was like an older brother, having worked together in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. He cited Chaiya’s clear achievements in cracking down on illegal pork and smuggling of various goods, with tangible results. While serving as Deputy Speaker of the House, Chaiya earned respect from MPs and conducted meetings smoothly, demonstrating his quality.
Thammanat further said his political career began with the Thai Rak Thai Party, then moved to the People's Power Party and Pheu Thai Party. He never said his former homes were bad, but noted factionalism and favoritism based on leadership rather than merit. Thus, he chose to build a new political home for the country, and invited Chaiya to join because of his knowledge, ability, and clear record.
"Today, many members who have joined this home are not 'snakes' but share the same political ideals. I ask the people of Nong Bua Lamphu District 2 to allow Chaiya to return to parliament under Kla Tham Party. I assure you that Chaiya will be a future minister working for the country."
Thammanat later said the political atmosphere in Nong Bua Lamphu resembles his hometown of Phayao, where his political journey began, focusing on building a local political base. He noted that in last year's provincial administrative organization election, he and Chaiya supported Saranya Suwanprom, who won decisively. He is confident Kla Tham will secure all three districts here as they did in Phayao, emphasizing the party’s commitment to action, with key policies on water management, crop price issues, agricultural land rights, restructuring teacher and farmer debts, and tackling illegal land and goods.
"More than 99% of Nong Bua Lamphu’s population is engaged in agriculture, so the party's main policies focus on agriculture. I am confident in this area, just as I am confident in my home province of Phayao."
Regarding campaigning in Bangkok, Thammanat said next week he will begin visiting communities with Paweena Hongsakul, Kla Tham Party's social advisory chairwoman. He is familiar with many Bangkok neighborhoods such as Khlong Toei, Lat Phrao, and Din Daeng, where he also resides.
