Ink Campaigns in Korat Urging Vote for Yotsachanan and Poomtham, Exposes State Power Interference in Elections

Paethongtarn launched a campaign in Nakhon Ratchasima, urging voters to elect Yotsachanan as prime minister. Poomtham exposed political parties with state power interfering in elections by instructing village chiefs, local leaders, and police to act as vote canvassers benefiting their allies, intimidating candidates from other parties. He urged the Election Commission to perform its duties with integrity.


On 31 Jan 2026 at the viewpoint at Khao Khuean Lan in Sikhiu district, Nakhon Ratchasima, Paethongtarn Shinawatra, former prime minister and leader of the Pheu Thai family, met with Red Shirt supporters and Sikhiu locals. She was accompanied by Prasert Chanruangrongthong, secretary-general of Pheu Thai; Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, a party list candidate; and Patchara Chanruangrongthong, candidate for Nakhon Ratchasima MP. They inspected the progress of the skywalk construction project. Upon arrival, locals surrounded Paethongtarn, presenting marigold garlands and tying traditional white checkered cloth around her waist, requesting photos. She told the villagers to remember to vote number 9 on the pink ballot in this election. She thanked the locals for their warm welcome and said that when Pheu Thai was in government, it focused on policies reaching all people in every province and area. She confirmed that the party's campaign does not blame any other party but aims to communicate its policies clearly so that the public can understand how they will benefit. If Pheu Thai leads the next government, she asked for support for Yotsachanan Wongsawat as the party’s prime minister candidate, to push policies benefiting the people. She stressed that Pheu Thai’s commitment is deeply rooted in its DNA, with everyone dedicated to working for the country, and this strong DNA remains with the party.


Poomtham exposes political parties with state power interfering in elections.


Poomtham Vejjajai, Pheu Thai party list candidate, posted on Facebook that in the final stretch of the election, issues such as vote-buying, misuse of state power for harassment, and intimidation of opposing candidates often occur. The party has received complaints from several areas including Kanchanaburi, Sisaket, Kalasin, and Ubon Ratchathani about troubling behavior. Some party leaders holding state power have directed local administrative officers, village chiefs, local leaders, and police to act as vote canvassers favoring their own candidates, while intimidating and threatening candidates from other parties. There are exchanges of benefits or career advancement in positions. Reports of massive vote-buying unprecedented in scale have also been received, undermining the principles of elections. All officials should not abuse state power beyond limits to interfere in the election process. He called on the Election Commission, state officials, and political parties to perform their duties honestly and within legal frameworks. What the country deserves is not victories achieved through state power or money buying votes, but genuine victories from the people's true votes. He hopes all parties, state agencies, and civil servants will adhere to rules, respect the people, and not fear illegal state power mechanisms or allow anyone to manipulate their decisions.
