
Prime Minister Anutin led the Cabinet in performing merit-making and alms offering to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on the occasion of the royal 100-day merit-making ceremony and participated in the “Unity of Loyalty” event.
On 31 January 2026 at 07:30, at the Government House, Siripong Angkasakulkit, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the merit-making and alms offering ceremony honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, marking the royal 100-day merit-making ceremony and the mourning event “Unity of Loyalty.”
Upon the Prime Minister's arrival at the Santi Maitri Building (Outer Wing), 10 monks took their seats. The Prime Minister lit incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem and lit a small gold offering in front of the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Officials then invited the precepts, the monks gave the precepts and chanted Buddhist scriptures. The Prime Minister offered monastic robes and other items to the Supreme Patriarch of Wat Traimit Witthayaram Worawihan and presented ten sets of robes to the monks, who then gave their blessings. The Prime Minister poured water in a ritual, paid respects to the Triple Gem, and paid homage to the royal portrait. He then joined the alms offering ceremony at the front of the Santi Maitri Building, where 93 monks received alms.
After the alms offering ceremony, Prime Minister Anutin and Ms. Thananon Niramis, along with Cabinet members and attendees, joined the “Unity of Loyalty” event on the lawn in front of the Thai Koo Fah Building. The Prime Minister paid respects before the royal portrait and expressed condolences and gratitude for the royal benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, saying:
“I, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, together with the Cabinet, spouses, civil servants, and Thai people from all walks of life, solemnly unite our hearts as one to express our loyalty and profound gratitude for the boundless royal benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
For over seven decades, Her Majesty carried out numerous royal duties for the benefit and happiness of the people. She has been a source of inspiration and morale for all Thai citizens, exemplifying dedication and incomparable wisdom. The royal projects initiated by Her Majesty have improved the quality of life across all regions, in aspects of living standards, environment, art and culture, especially promoting occupations and preserving Thai handicrafts, which continue to flourish and benefit the nation to this day.
With Her Majesty's immense compassion toward the people as the “Mother of the Land,” we pledge to carry on Her royal legacy with loyalty and to uphold virtuous conduct to create benefits for the country and its people continuously.”
On 31 January 2026, marking the 100-day royal memorial of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's passing, the government organized merit-making ceremonies and the “Unity of Loyalty” mourning event to dedicate royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
On this occasion, all those gathered here and at various locations were invited to stand in silence to solemnly remember the immeasurable royal benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and to honor Her Majesty above all, forever.”
Following that, the Prime Minister and attendees stood in silent tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, for one minute before paying respects to the royal portrait, marking the conclusion of the ceremony.
Participants in the ceremony included Cabinet members and their spouses, heads of agencies under the Prime Minister's Office, senior officials and deputies at the Government House, and leaders of four religions (Christianity, Islam, Brahmin-Hinduism, Sikhism), totaling approximately 900 people.
