Korat Election Commission Withdraws Name of Chalerm Saengratsamekin Citing Disqualification

The Korat Election Commission has announced the withdrawal of Chalerm Saengratsamekin, a candidate for MP from the Kla Tham Party, following a Supreme Court order due to disqualification.

On 31 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the Election Commission for Constituency 13 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, covering Sikhio District and Pak Chong District (specifically Wang Sai, Khlong Muang, Wang Kratha, and Pong Talong subdistricts), issued a notice withdrawing the candidacy of candidate number 3, Mr. Chalerm Saengratsamekin from the Kla Tham Party.

This withdrawal follows a Supreme Court ruling ordering the removal of this candidate's name after verifying that he lacks the required qualifications or has prohibited characteristics under Section 42 of the Organic Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives B.E. 2561 (2018). Mr. Chalerm was previously sentenced to imprisonment and released within the past 10 years, which disqualifies him from running for MP.
