Advance Voting for 2026 Election Begins February 1: Voters Receive Two Ballots, No Referendum Vote Today

Advance voting for the 2026 election opened today, 1 February 2026, with registered voters gradually entering polling booths. Voters were reminded to receive two ballots: one for constituency MPs and one for political parties. There is no referendum voting today. Voting is allowed until 5 p.m.

Advance Voting for the 2026 Election Begins

On 1 February 2026, at 8:00 a.m., the ballot boxes were officially opened. Advance voting proceeded smoothly. Today’s vote is for the election of Members of Parliament (MPs) by constituency and by party list, as designated by the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT). Registered advance voters can cast their votes at their registered polling stations, where they will be informed of the election date, name, constituency, polling station, voting location, and party list number (click Check Voting Eligibility )

At the same time, it was emphasized that there is no referendum voting (yellow ballot) today. Polling stations will distribute only two ballots.

1. Green ballot for constituency MP election Voters mark (X) only one candidate number to choose their local representative.

2. Pink ballot for party list MP election Voters mark (X) only one party number to select their preferred political party.

The ECT allows registered advance voters to cast their ballots from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. After polls close, votes will not be counted immediately; counting will occur simultaneously with the general election on Sunday, 8 February 2026, after polls close. Those who voted early can still participate in the referendum voting on 8 February at their registered polling stations or at out-of-area stations where they have registered.

This morning, voters gradually arrived to select political parties and parliamentary representatives. In Bangkok, the five districts with the highest number of registered advance voters are: Bang Kapi, at the Tawanna Bang Kapi project (Tawanna 2), with 58,683 voters; Chatuchak, at Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, with 51,719 voters; Lat Krabang, at the Lat Krabang District Office parking lot (temporary), with 38,548 voters; Huai Khwang, at the Huai Khwang District Office building and tents, with 32,419 voters; and Din Daeng, at the West Gymnasium 1-2, Thai-Japanese Youth Center, with 28,940 voters.
