A seriously ill elderly man with a deep love for democracy asked his doctor for permission to come out and vote early in Phrae province. He invited Thai people to fully exercise their voting rights, believing this time will definitely make Thailand better.
Reporters noted that the Election Commission scheduled early voting outside registered districts on Sunday, 1 Feb 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00. Phrae province has three polling districts, with District 1 located at the futsal and basketball dome (next to the badminton gymnasium) at the Phrae Provincial Administrative Organization Sports Stadium in Mueang Phrae district.
This morning, many voters came enthusiastically to vote. Officials and volunteer scouts from Thepnaree School in Sung Men district, Phrae, provided comprehensive assistance and guidance to voters, ensuring the process ran smoothly without any problems. Mr. Chanwit Pimpila, Director of the Phrae Provincial Election Commission Office, along with staff and related officials, closely supervised and supported the event.
Later, it was found that Mr. Preecha Kongsuk, 71, from Din Daeng, Bangkok, was brought by his relatives to the polling station. Upon parking, officials and volunteer scouts helped carry him out of the car and seated him in a wheelchair. His relatives then pushed him through the voting procedures until completion.
Relatives revealed that the elderly man is in the final stage of cancer but loves democracy and votes every time. Despite his severe illness, he asked his doctor for permission to vote, so they brought him to cast his ballot.
Mr. Preecha stated that at 71 years old, he found the officials well-organized and invited all eligible voters to exercise their voting rights fully, as this election will help improve Thailand.
