Anutin said the leaked audio clip resembling Sakda is awaiting his explanation regarding accusations of being heartless. He remains puzzled and stated that the Bhumjaithai Party must stay composed and patient, not fearing a loss of votes since supporters all remember the party's number.
On 1 Feb 2026 at 18:00 at Sam Khok Market in Pathum Thani Province, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about confidence in the party's election prospects in Pathum Thani amid fierce competition from many parties. He said competition is intense everywhere, and Bhumjaithai expects to win here and nationwide. When asked about the leaked audio clip resembling Deputy Minister of Interior Sakda Wichiansilp speaking with an apparent local politician from Kanchanaburi about government formation—mentioning the blue party possibly forming a government without turmoil, the orange party leading to a coup, and the red party unlikely to govern due to its leader's imprisonment—Anutin said he had heard the clip. He noted contradictions within it and said he would wait for Sakda to clarify, as he could not tell if it was genuine or fake. He was puzzled by claims that he was heartless and said he would ask Sakda when they meet. Currently, Sakda is still campaigning, and such things happen in the final week. Bhumjaithai must behave properly, stay calm, and wait patiently as per the party's style. When asked if more attacks on the party would come in the last seven days, Anutin said this is the week when accusations fly, but Bhumjaithai has no such issues. The party focuses on policy and what it will do for the people without disparaging or criticizing other parties. He is not worried because the party’s resilience comes from the people.
When asked about problems in early voting today and concerns about impact on Bhumjaithai’s voter base, Anutin said this is the responsibility of the Election Commission (EC) and he is not worried about vote loss because people understand how to vote. The party’s number is 37, and no one has asked voters what their number is; everyone immediately says 37. He used to worry but seeing this phenomenon, he no longer does. Regarding concerns about vote buying, which has recently surfaced, he said he is not worried. Everyone tries to smear and label others—that is normal for the final week and typical of those who think they cannot win.
