Thanathorn expressed frustration over the Election Commission's sloppy work, questioning why the issues occur only with the People's Party. He said someone must face jail time and urged citizens to mark both ballots for the party. Meanwhile, “Ice” criticized the Election Commission's carelessness and warned that if anger erupts, those responsible might face severe consequences.
On 1 Feb 2026, the People's Party Eastern Caravan "Saltwater Child" held a campaign rally in front of the fresh market at the Trat Municipality Shopping Center, Mueang District, Trat Province, to support candidate Panseth Numnu, number 7, representing the People's Party.
Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, former leader of the Future Forward Party and campaign assistant for the People's Party, addressed issues with the advance and out-of-district voting organized nationwide by the Election Commission today. He expressed deep frustration over multiple errors by the Election Commission, including failure to post candidate introduction documents. When citizens inquired, officials wrongly claimed some candidates had been disqualified, which was untrue.
There were also mistakes such as posting QR codes with candidate details from the 2023 election instead of 2026, and entering district codes incorrectly—akin to putting letters in the wrong envelopes—which could cause votes cast by citizens to be counted in the wrong districts.
Thanathorn continued, "Why does this only happen to the People's Party? Someone must go to jail over this." His statement was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Finally, Thanathorn concluded that the only solution now is to vote on 8 Feb 2026, marking both ballots for the People's Party as much as possible to secure a decisive victory. He said even someone from Mars would see the need to win convincingly, so that the fraudsters' tricks can no longer affect the outcome.
Rakchanok Srinok, the People's Party party-list candidate, posted on Facebook stating that despite all the tactics, the Election Commission claims transparency.
1. Missing candidate names for the People's Party at boards displaying names in Lampang, Chonburi, Chiang Rai, Nakhon Pathom, Ayutthaya, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Bangkok. These are only the reported cases; others remain unreported and unknown.
2. Many districts posted name boards with errors, which can happen, but when citizens asked which number the People's Party candidates were or where their ballots were, Election Commission officials responded that those candidates had been disqualified.
3. In Bangkok, scanning candidate name boards revealed data from the 2023 election, not the current one.
4. After advance voting, the Election Commission must enter district codes to send votes to the correct district, but many districts entered codes incorrectly or not at all despite citizens' complaints. This raises suspicion of intentional misplacement of votes.
5. Some Election Commission officials instructed voters to write their own names on ballots, which would invalidate the votes immediately.
6. Several military camps conducting advance voting held meetings where participants were urged not to vote for parties that demean the military or are unpatriotic, falsely claiming citizens plan to amend the constitution to abolish Section 112, which is untrue.
7. Military camps only allowed Election Commission officials, senior and junior military personnel inside; no third-party observers were permitted. Some camps had people peeking into voting booths.
8. Overseas voting also faced numerous problems, with many worried that their votes would not be counted, as had happened in previous years.
Everyone should record videos of any irregularities, capturing officials clearly. Every vote counts and is hard to earn but can be easily lost due to Election Commission carelessness. Remember Bangkok's District 33, where they lost by only 4 votes. Imagine if citizens voted for us but the Election Commission's mistakes caused the votes to be lost—who will take responsibility? Some errors may be understandable as mistakes, but others are unacceptable. What is the purpose of the Election Commission? What does its acronym stand for?
Do not challenge the people's anger too much. Don't think past issues are forgotten or that people don't remember. Their resentment accumulates. When the anger finally erupts uncontrollably, those in power behind the scenes should beware they might disappear without a trace.
