Yotchanan Leads Pheu Thai Campaign in Sakon Nakhon, Seeks Support for All 7 Constituencies and Promises 8-Year Tenure

Yotchanan stormed into Sakon Nakhon, appealing to Pheu Thai candidates in all 7 constituencies to unite the province and requesting to stay in power for 8 years to overhaul Thailand. He also mocked a leaked audio clip, saying the speaker must be very high-ranking, and criticized the use of corrupt authority.

At 09:00 on 2 February 2026, at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Sakon Nakhon Campus, Phang Khon District, Sakon Nakhon Province, Yotchanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidate, along with Jakrapong Saengmanee, party deputy leader and Pheu Thai party list candidate, and Nattawut Saiyakuay, Pheu Thai campaign assistant, visited to support Ms. Sakuna Saranan, candidate for Sakon Nakhon constituency 6. A crowd had gathered to hear the speeches. Upon arrival, Yotchanan and his team greeted the public, who presented them with herbal inhaler garlands, indigo-dyed fabric teddy bear garlands, indigo-dyed scarves, and herbal compress garlands.

In his speech, Yotchanan said this was his first visit to Sakon Nakhon and he felt warmly welcomed. He thanked everyone sincerely and asked if he could consider himself a member of the Sakon Nakhon community now. He said he was here to reaffirm that Pheu Thai is close to the candidates, who have already delivered the concerns and policies of the people to him. He stressed the importance of 1 vote on 8 February, the decisive day, because one vote can elect a prime minister who truly understands the people of Sakon Nakhon and can change their lives. He cited household debt data showing an average of 200,000 baht per household in Sakon Nakhon. He insisted that while Thailand aims to be a high-income country, leaders must care for those in distress. The first priority, he said, would be to solve the debt problem comprehensively.

He continued, "Today, Sakon Nakhon has 7 constituencies, and I ask for all 7. I also ask to serve for 8 years. We talk about overhauling Thailand, and Pheu Thai can do it. I am ready to be the 33rd prime minister, but I cannot work alone. So, will our candidates be allowed to work together? I volunteer to be the prime minister for the people of Sakon Nakhon. Please choose both the person and the party."

Meanwhile, Nattawut spoke in the final stretch, criticizing some parties for blindly claiming to be patriotic and that only they love the country, while accusing others of not. He said no party hates the nation or the land, and Pheu Thai does not follow a divisive path. They campaign daily focusing on policies that solve problems. Yotchanan, the prime ministerial candidate, has never clashed or conflicted with anyone. If elected, the party can form a government immediately because of their knowledge, vision, and proven capability, having risen through their own efforts. He urged people to ignore claims that any party is unpatriotic, calling such tactics improper politics. He assured that Pheu Thai will definitely form a government and emphasized that it has the clearest and most policy-focused campaign this round.

Nattawut added, "Today, I flew from Bangkok and heard an anonymous audio clip—I won’t name names for fear of legal action, as I already have many cases. But the speaker sounded very powerful. The clip mentioned a coup if a certain party is elected, talked about people imprisoned, and made various improper claims. I don't know who is speaking, but given the stature, I consider it a declaration of power." "I wonder if the prime minister has heard this declaration of power. Reporters asked him about it on 1 February. The prime minister said he had listened but was unsure and suggested asking the person involved. He seemed skeptical, but strangely, I fully believe the audio is genuine. Whose voice it is, I truly don’t know, but it surely is a declaration of power."

Listening to this content, it seems the person intends to use corrupt, illegitimate means to gain power. That approach is incompatible with democracy. Pheu Thai has made mistakes, as any party does after working hard, and apologizes for any errors. But one thing is certain: Pheu Thai has never come to power by unlawful means, never ridden on a military coup to form a government, but always formed governments from the people’s votes.
