Bangkok Summarizes Early Voting: High Voter Engagement, Bang Kapi District Sees 50,000 Votes Cast

Bangkok city summarized the overall early voting for 2026, reporting an 87.60% turnout for out-of-district registrants and 96.47% for in-district voters. Bang Kapi district had 50,184 voters participate out of 58,665 registered. Officials confirm plans to improve the process by 8 February.


On 2 February 2026, following the early voting held on 1 February 2026, Bangkok reported that 845,853 people registered for out-of-district early voting, with 740,966 casting their votes, a turnout rate of 87.60%. Meanwhile, 2,747 registered for in-district early voting, with 2,650 voting, representing 96.47% turnout. This reflects clear civic engagement and democratic participation among Bangkok residents.

The top five central voting locations with the highest out-of-district early voting turnout percentages were: :

  • Nong Khaem District Office recorded 10,953 voters out of 11,893 registered, a 92.10% turnout.
  • Samphanthawong District Office had 2,106 voters from 2,305 registrants, a 91.37% turnout.
  • Phra Nakhon District Office parking lot saw 5,188 voters out of 5,717 registered, a 90.75% turnout.
  • Siam Technology College in Bangkok Yai District had 8,017 voters from 8,835 registrants, a 90.74% turnout.
  • Ratchathewi District Office recorded 20,268 voters from 22,403 registered, a 90.47% turnout.

Considering the five locations with the highest number of out-of-district early voters, :

  • Tawanna Bang Kapi Project (Tawanna 2) in Bang Kapi District had 50,184 voters out of 58,665 registered, an 85.54% turnout.
  • Chandrakasem Rajabhat University in Chatuchak District recorded 45,619 voters from 51,826 registrants, an 88.02% turnout.
  • Lat Krabang District Office parking lot (temporary) had 32,798 voters out of 38,548 registered, an 85.08% turnout.
  • Huai Khwang District Office area saw 28,525 voters from 32,462 registrants, an 87.87% turnout.
  • Bangkok Youth Center (Thai–Japanese) Buildings 1 and 2 in Din Daeng District had 25,753 voters from 29,090 registrants, an 88.53% turnout.

Furthermore, all out-of-district early voting ballot envelopes from every Bangkok unit have been fully handed over to Thailand Post. Thailand Post will deliver the ballots to the respective constituencies based on voters' registered addresses to prepare for vote counting on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at central counting stations in each voter's home constituency, alongside the general election.

Bangkok thanks all citizens who took the time to participate in early voting, as well as officials and agencies involved who diligently performed their duties, resulting in a smooth overall process. The city has closely monitored public feedback via social media, noting predominantly positive responses especially regarding convenience, orderliness, and staff attentiveness. However, suggestions concerning travel and traffic conditions in some areas have been noted and will be considered to enhance the efficiency, convenience, and inclusiveness of the 8 February 2026 election.
