The Prime Minister is unconcerned about Hun Manet's planned protest accusing Thailand of territorial aggression, calling it merely rhetorical to create conditions, and affirms Thailand's adherence to the ceasefire agreement of 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7.
On 3 Jan 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Chanveerakul was interviewed regarding Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's plan to protest Thailand on the world stage, alleging Thai territorial aggression. He stated that Thailand operates clearly under its own sovereignty and has not received any official report on this matter.
The Prime Minister reiterated that currently both countries have a “ceasefire agreement” jointly signed on 27 Dec 2025 GMT+7 (during the 3rd Special GBC Session), which fully details the terms and conditions, including cessation of weapon use and maintaining troops in their current positions to prevent misunderstandings. Therefore, there should be no doubts if all parties comply with the agreement.
When asked about preparations for international response, Anutin said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and is ready to clarify immediately to any international organizations raising concerns. “There is no problem as long as we do not breach the agreement or contract, which we have consistently upheld. That is why we can set terms that satisfy us.”
