Anutin Urges Cabinet to Maintain Full Efficiency, Emphasizes Calm Border with No Signs of Unwanted Incidents

Anutin emphasized to the Cabinet that government administration must continue at full efficiency until the oath-taking ceremony. He urged swift assistance and guidance for military families to receive their compensation promptly and reaffirmed that the border remains peaceful with no indication of undesirable incidents occurring.

On 3 February 2026, Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that before the Cabinet meeting at Room 501, Government House Building 1, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul instructed the Cabinet that despite this being the final week before the election, the Cabinet’s duties and responsibilities must be performed with readiness and full efficiency until the oath-taking ceremony. He asked all ministers to fully oversee their assigned responsibilities.

Additionally, 3 February each year is observed as Veterans Day. The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Defense to represent the government in laying a wreath at Victory Monument. On this day, a special ceremony organized by the Royal Patronage Organization for Veterans took place to inter the ashes of 42 soldiers who died while defending the Thai-Cambodian border. Their remains were enshrined in the Hall of Honor within the monument. This event reflects the government, through the Ministry of Defense, honoring the sacrifices of soldiers who protected sovereignty. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Defense for organizing such a dignified event.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Defense regarding families of soldiers who have yet to receive various compensations. Recognizing that each family may face different obstacles, he requested the Ministry of Defense to direct unit leaders to provide guidance or mediate issues to ensure timely and complete compensation payments. He also directed the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry to instruct provincial governors and district chiefs where these families reside to expedite the compensation disbursement process.

He reaffirmed that the border remains peaceful with no signs of undesirable incidents.

Later, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin responded to questions on Veterans Day about the current Thai-Cambodian border situation. He stated it remains calm and under control, with no signs indicating any undesirable incidents. He assured the Thai public to have confidence and trust that the military and government have taken all necessary measures. Although no violent events have occurred, border control and monitoring continue with strictness, strength, and efficiency.

Regarding concerns about problems on 8 February, Anutin said there will be none. With the election just days away, and observing the number of voters who participated in early voting on 1 February, it is clear that Thai citizens take this election seriously. This election will determine the country's future, and the decision lies solely with the country's owners—the Thai people.
