Election Commission Secretary Summons Fastwork Executive over Alleged Vote-Buying Post

The Secretary-General of the Election Commission has ordered the summons of a Fastwork platform executive who posted claims that an elderly woman accepted money to vote for a political party.

On 3 Feb 2026 at 14:00 GMT+7, at the Election Commission Office, it was reported that Mr. Sa-nga Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, instructed the office to summon Mr. CK Cheong, executive of Fastwork, an online freelance platform in Thailand, for questioning regarding a Facebook post he made on the evening of 2 Feb. The post quoted a conversation between CK and his grandmother, where he said, "I just called grandma a moment ago and asked her..."

CK: Grandma, who will you vote for in this election?

Grandma: Oh dear! Grandma has already received 2,000 baht. I think I will vote for party xxx.

CK: Grandma, do you see the OLED TV that CK just bought right beside you? Tomorrow CK will send someone to take it back...

This message sparked widespread discussion and criticism on social media, with calls for CK to take his grandmother to report the matter to the police and the Election Commission, as the evidence seemed complete and the act would be illegal under election laws. However, CK later deleted the post, leading netizens to suspect he may have fabricated the story to attack a political party.
