“Supachai” Appeals to Surat Thani Residents, Assures Bhumjaithai Can Form Government, Khon La Khrueng Plus Will Return

The Bhumjaithai Party campaigns actively in Surat Thani. Pipat leads speeches asking for votes for both the party and its candidates. Meanwhile, Supachai appeals for support to safeguard people's livelihoods after the election, assuring that if Bhumjaithai forms the government, the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” program will return.

At 17:50 on 3 Sep 2026 at Tha Thong Mai Market, Kanchanadit District, Surat Thani, Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, a southern regional leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), along with Mrs. Supachai Suthampan, Mr. Santi Piyatat (campaign assistant), Mr. Eknat Pumphan, and Mr. Supachai Jaisamut, BJT party-list candidates, visited to support Bhumjaithai candidates campaigning in all seven Surat Thani constituencies.

When Mr. Pipat and Mrs. Supachai arrived at Tha Thong Mai Market, many vendors gathered to welcome them, presenting marigold garlands, roses, and calling out Supachai’s name along with Bhumjaithai’s number 37.

Mrs. Supachai then stood atop the campaign vehicle in the market for the first time and told the crowd, “We are here today to build confidence and trust that we sincerely bring good policies to improve the economy and well-being of our people.”

Mr. Pipat briefly said, “Pipat stands firm. I urge the people of Surat Thani to vote for Bhumjaithai—both the party and the candidates.”

Next, Mr. Santi stated, “Previous governments never dared to make many decisions, but this government has worked for over two months and has already benefited the people in many ways. So on 8 Feb, don’t forget Bhumjaithai.” Following this, Mr. Pipat led Mrs. Supachai and the team through Sala Shrine Market, where the atmosphere was lively, with vendors and citizens giving flowers and requesting photos with Mrs. Supachai along the route.

Before taking the stage, Mr. Pipat, Mrs. Supachai, and the team paid respects at the monument of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) inside Wat Klang Kao, Mueang Surat Thani District.

At 19:30, Mr. Pipat spoke on stage, saying, “The South has lacked infrastructure development opportunities for over 30 years. I ask for support from the people of Surat Thani: if we want infrastructure equal to other regions, please vote for Bhumjaithai in all seven constituencies and for the party as well. The dual-track railway has now reached Chumphon Province, and in the 2027 budget, there will be a single budget request for the entire line from Chumphon to Surat Thani, from Surat Thani to Hat Yai District, and from Hat Yai to Padang Besar. We expect completion within three years to ease road congestion and bring parity with the North and Northeast.”

Mr. Pipat continued, “Another project is the 25-kilometer bridge across Koh Samui, connecting to Don Sak District in Surat Thani and another section to Khanom District in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will oversee construction. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been completed as reported to me, and an MoU has been signed by four agencies. The project is expected to be tendered within three years.”

Mrs. Supachai began her speech on stage by greeting in the southern dialect, “I’ve missed you all. I’m happy to stand here today.” She continued, “We will overcome challenges together. Bhumjaithai does not intend to care for Surat Thani people only during the election but wants to support their livelihoods and economy afterwards as well.”

Mrs. Supachai said, “Mr. Pipat mentioned Surat Thani’s slogan — it is the city of a hundred islands and delicious rambutans, though rambutans have become fewer, replaced by other crops. Therefore, we must develop durian on Koh Samui into a GI (Geographical Indication) product to increase its value. Regarding rubber, Bhumjaithai will strive to add value and stabilize prices, which requires cooperation among farmers, the government, and controlling oversupply.”

Additionally, the slogan highlights Surat Thani’s famous dhamma (Buddhist) sites, which are a key attraction. We have everything here, so I invite everyone to use the slogan to encourage visitors not just to pass through to the islands but also to explore within the province, boosting the local economy and encouraging tourists to stay longer.

Mrs. Supachai confirmed, “Regarding the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' program, if we return to power, we will revive it to support the economy at the grassroots level. We will also enhance skills for small entrepreneurs to truly match the ‘Plus’ concept, enabling them to sell better. Furthermore, Bhumjaithai will push policies to reduce electricity costs to 3 baht per unit, along with other policies.”
