The Governor of Bangkok revealed that on February 8, the city is ready to facilitate voters, assuring “no one will get lost or confused.” He expressed confidence in the system’s quality and readiness to handle voters simultaneously across all districts, avoiding problems like those during advance voting.
On 4 February 2026 at the Iravadh Pattana Building, Bangkok City Hall, Din Daeng, Governor Chadchart Sithiphan said Bangkok is 100% ready to hold the major election on 8 Feb 2026. Although advance voting had some issues with crowding and confusion at certain points, the general election system on 8 Feb will be completely different. Voters will go to the polling station in their registered district, reducing congestion and eliminating confusion over district codes or ballot envelopes. Officials are fully prepared, with intensive training provided to more than 120,000 election committee members and support staff to professionally provide information and assistance. The vote-counting system is transparent; Bangkok has passed joint vote-processing tests with the Election Commission to ensure fast and accurate result reporting.
Governor Chadchart emphasized that each district office has prepared thoroughly well in advance, covering locations, traffic management, and weather contingencies. Citizens can confidently exercise their voting rights without worrying about confusion like that experienced during advance voting.
“I invite the people of Bangkok to come out to vote on 8 Feb 2026 from 08:00 to 17:00. I am confident this election will be conducted with high standards—convenient and efficient—because this time voters will vote in their own districts, unlike during advance voting. There is nothing to worry about. Every district is well prepared, especially for serving people with disabilities, pregnant women, and the elderly, whom we will assist and facilitate fully,” Governor Chadchart said.
