Southern Turnaround: Korn Highlights Democrat Partys Readiness with Policies and Juree Team Seeking Parliamentary Support

Korn revealed that the paired image of "Juree-Chuan," symbolizing grassroots children, conveys the spirit of honest politics. He expressed gratitude for the Democrat Party's warm reception from across the country. Juree noted that this reflects the southern resurgence and requested votes to become a parliamentary representative in the House.

5 Feb 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, deputy leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, shared the public response from Hat Yai District and Songkhla Province, stating it has been very positive, exceeding expectations, deeply touching the team, and he thanked the people of Songkhla Province, the South, and nationwide for their warm support and welcome of the Democrat Party.

Mr. Korn said, "Today, the people of Hat Yai and the South are searching for new political hope—hope grounded in honesty, sincerity, and genuine understanding of the people's problems, not the gray or black politics seen in recent years." He emphasized that the Democrat Party is fully prepared with policies and a team, especially for structural issues like flooding in Hat Yai. The party has a plan to resolve this scientifically and systematically, ready to implement immediately to restore economic confidence in the South.

On the other hand, Mr. Juree Numkaew, Democrat Party candidate for Member of Parliament for Songkhla's 2nd District, said that throughout his campaign, he never quantified his confidence in numbers because the support received has been silent, natural votes, not organized votes, making calculation impossible. What he has is the encouragement from villagers who warmly welcomed him continuously, even before candidate number draws. The more he meets people, the stronger the encouragement grows. This atmosphere is not only in Hat Yai but nearly throughout the South, clearly reflecting the 'Southern Turnaround' momentum. Over the past 2-3 years, southern politics was seen as tied to corruption and gray influence, causing many in the South to recall the Democrat Party of the past—the era when it voiced the people's concerns and adhered to white (clean) politics, led by Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, party leader and prime ministerial candidate, who symbolizes honesty in the public memory.

Then, Mr. Korn added that a deeply impressive image for Southerners and all Thais is the photo of Mr. Juree alongside Mr. Chuan Leekpai, which carries profound political meaning. "Mr. Chuan is a grassroots child who succeeded, growing up honestly to become prime minister, while Juree is a grassroots child who struggled and built himself up through diligence and integrity. This image makes people feel these are accessible individuals who can truly represent them. I see this as having a significant impact on restoring the South's trust in the Democrat Party, similar to the faith they once had in Mr. Chuan in the past."

At the same time, Mr. Korn stressed that among the general public, the person who communicates directly, stands by them in hardship, and speaks their language is Mr. Juree, who plays a crucial role in reviving faith and making the southern resurgence tangible. Toward the end, Mr. Juree urged the people of Hat Yai and Songkhla to support a true grassroots candidate to genuinely serve as their representative and voice, asking them to vote for number 1, while Mr. Korn added, "Don't forget to vote for number 27 as well."
