Anutin appeals to voters in Nakhon Si Thammarat to choose Bhumjaithai, stating he is not demanding gratitude regarding flood prevention but asks them not to forget. He dismisses talks with Abhisit as useless, denying any "old man's treasure," saying it belongs to the people. Thanakorn declares he does not want to remain stagnant and urges people not to trust the blue color (Democrat Party).
On 5 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, delivered a major speech at the city square in Nakhon Si Thammarat province to support Bhumjaithai candidates running in all nine parliamentary constituencies of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Mr. Anutin began his speech with a southern dialect greeting, thanking the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat for their warm welcome and for attending the Bhumjaithai Party rally this evening. He said they came as volunteers to serve the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat and, as their representatives, promised to work to bring happiness, comfort, and a good quality of life to them for life.
He added that with Bhumjaithai's arrival, the hardships in the minds of the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat will be erased. The province has been very kind to him; since 2019 he has sought parliamentary seats from the people there but was not successful as he was not yet accepted as a southern son-in-law. By 2023, having a southern partner, Bhumjaithai with Mr. Saksayam Chidchob and Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn aimed to develop the South with improvements in transportation, airports, and commerce across the southern region.
In 2023, the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat softened their stance and elected two Bhumjaithai MPs, which delighted him greatly. From having nothing, he frequently visited Nakhon Si Thammarat to pay respects at the Phra Borommathat and City Pillar Shrine. He displayed a Jatukam Ramathep amulet and said he respects the sacred symbols of Nakhon Si Thammarat. After becoming prime minister, he prioritized the province, appointing Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana as minister and gathering trusted locals to improve the quality of life of the people there, bringing everyone on stage to work with the community.
Bhumjaithai values the southern people highly. Number 2 on the party list is also from the South. In 2023, he spoke similarly and secured two MPs, despite many injections to his throat (metaphor for effort). This time he is ready with nine candidates; not giving all nine would be harsh. He believes none came just to waste their relatives’ votes and thanks those who voted for candidate number 37 and his MP. He urged voters to support both the candidates and the party, otherwise, he would rather be eating roti (a local snack).
He also said this year he has spent time and effort training because he sees each candidate's skills, experience, and commitment to serving the people. Coming from various parties means nothing; parties are not possessions of any elders. All political parties belong to the people. Projects from MPs or former politicians belong to the people, not anyone personally. If they want to stay, they stay; if not, they come. No one owns the party. Those who want to serve the nation must see whether previously, when they were MPs elsewhere, they failed to meet villagers' needs. When they come to Bhumjaithai, they can say what they want done and it gets done.
He is not demanding gratitude about flood prevention but asks people not to forget.
Mr. Anutin said the party works with an open heart; politics is small to them, but Thailand’s progress, citizens’ quality of life, and people’s needs are the most important issues for Bhumjaithai. They never demand thanks but simply ask that if floods do not happen, people remember Bhumjaithai caused that. They do not ask for thanks, only to not be forgotten.
He asked voters to choose Bhumjaithai, saying he might not be a good speaker but is certainly handsome.
Mr. Anutin added he does not speak ill of anyone, never disparages, or uses bad language. “If you don’t believe me, I’m willing to die instantly.” Instead of talking about others, parties should present their policies. Some come on stage and say only, “Vote for me,” without promising anything, which is useless since they are not prime minister. He urged people to choose parties that truly work for the public and have proven results like Bhumjaithai. They may not speak well but are certainly handsome.
He said he did not grow up in a culture of rivalry but in one of brotherhood. Bhumjaithai is united and listens to its MPs because the party teaches that citizens’ needs must be fulfilled. He asked voters to fully support Bhumjaithai again. Two MPs are not enough; all nine constituencies must be won.
Regarding accusations of impropriety, he said there is none. All candidates earn their living honestly and have reputations, including former provincial governors and doctors. Some parties say they will not collaborate with anyone even before the election, but only Bhumjaithai clearly states what it will do once elected.
He cited the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' program, which was implemented even though Bhumjaithai was in government for only three months. The second phase of the program is planned but was unsuccessful due to calls for early dissolution of parliament. He emphasized southern development is important and if re-elected prime minister, he will develop all areas of Thailand. Some parties say that without southern MPs, budget allocation will be delayed, but Bhumjaithai’s government allocates budgets to all regions simultaneously for balanced progress nationwide.
Mr. Anutin said that although Nakhon Si Thammarat is thousands of kilometers from the Thai-Cambodian border, he hears people say they want the border checkpoint closed. If everyone loves the nation and wants it closed, it will be done accordingly. There is no need to worry. Regarding disputed maritime rights, if Bhumjaithai forms government, it will cancel MOU 44. If negotiations continue unsuccessfully, they will stop because nothing has been achieved in 30 years.
Since 2019, Bhumjaithai has worked on southern development, including road and railway construction and the land bridge policy connecting the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand without digging a canal. Thailand will become globally important and must develop as a trade and economic hub using clean energy in industry, increasing profitability of production and exports. Nakhon Si Thammarat, with its large area, is suitable for various developments. Developing Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, and Songkhla will bring prosperity to the three southern border provinces and reduce violence, but this requires courageous leaders to act.
He urged voters to cast two ballots and not rely on the 'Khon La Khrueng' program with Bhumjaithai.
Mr. Anutin said on 8 February, voters should mark both ballots, for candidates and party. There is no need to hesitate or split votes. Bhumjaithai will provide the 'Khon La Khrueng' program to the public. If votes are incomplete, the word 'plus' will become 'lost'.
He emphasized Bhumjaithai will not be a party with full southern MPs that fails to deliver, unlike in the past. The main problem previously was narrow-mindedness. During debates in Bangkok that evening, Bhumjaithai sent Ms. Suphajee Suthamphan to participate, but Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat Party’s prime minister candidate, wants to talk with Mr. Anutin. Anutin said he sees no point in talking and prefers to talk to Nakhon Si Thammarat voters instead. He will not engage in politics against the people or country. This is why Bhumjaithai has grown, focusing on the nation and citizens, not blaming others for small setbacks.
Thanakorn Declares He Refuses to Remain Stagnant, Urges Distrust of Blue Color; "Old Man’s Treasure" Is Anutin
Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Bhumjaithai party-list candidate, said the prime minister is a son-in-law from Ranong. He appealed to southern voters to support Anutin, stressing the importance of choosing a government, not the opposition.
Thanakorn asked if people had heard of "old man's treasure." Last night, he burned incense and asked the old man, who appeared in a dream telling him to leave it with the old man. Before waking, the old man said, “Nephew, please take care of Anutin. The old man's treasure is Anutin.” He said they refuse to remain stagnant and must choose Anutin, not dividing their support. He urged voters in Nakhon Si Thammarat to choose both candidate and party. The 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' program was something no government else implemented, but Anutin did.
Thanakorn spoke in southern dialect: “Love me, choose me.” He said he visited the Phra Mahathat and City Pillar Shrine in Nakhon Si Thammarat and his first wish was for Anutin to be prime minister again. He urged voters to choose all nine parliamentary candidates, promising no disappointment, and to not be complacent while a monk leads.
He concluded by warning people not to believe certain others, especially the blue color (Democrat Party), who claim to be "old man's treasure." Today, he urged everyone to choose only Bhumjaithai and to love both the party and Anutin.
