Three Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidates campaign in Thonburi in the final stretch before the election, delivering speeches near the King Taksin Monument to rally Bangkok residents ahead of a major evening rally at Thephasadin Stadium. They promote a 20-baht flat-rate skytrain fare and emphasize that on February 8, Thai people must be free from poverty.
At 09:05 on 6 Feb 2026 in Bangkok, Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidate, accompanied by party leader and fellow candidate Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat, and election director and candidate Mr. Suriya Jungroongkij, along with party leaders and Thonburi district candidates, campaigned in Bangkok before taking the stage for their final major rally at Thephasadin Stadium, Pathumwan district, later this evening.
This morning, Mr. Yotchanan, Mr. Julpan, Mr. Suriya, and their team began by paying respects at the Royal Monument of King Rama I at Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge, then proceeded to honor the King Taksin Monument at Wongwian Yai. They met with residents and delivered a brief speech at the plaza in front of the King Taksin Monument. Upon arrival, supporters greeted them with shouts of “Prime Minister Chen!”, “Pheu Thai fight on!”, repeatedly.
Mr. Yotchanan stated that in just two days, change will definitely return. In Thonburi, Bangkok, we have many great things. Today, in these final days, we are campaigning alongside our candidates.
Today marks a turning point to restore a good quality of life in our Thonburi. This is not just about Thonburi; it represents the unity of all Bangkok residents. Many are not originally from here, while many are locals. What Thailand has is unity and solidarity. I am ready to be a bridge for everyone here. There are merchants, farmers, and many awaiting hope and better living standards. This is a crucial matter. We are prepared to resolve debts for all our brothers and sisters comprehensively.
Moreover, it is important to prevent new debts, reduce expenses, increase income, and expand opportunities for Bangkok residents. Many face travel costs and cannot move forward. Today, we will fully commit to reinstating a 20-baht flat-rate skytrain fare. For those living in alleys and side streets, we will develop transportation systems to comprehensively serve the community. This is what Pheu Thai has planned for our Thonburi and Bangkok families. We are ready to support everyone immediately. On February 8, Thai people must be free from poverty.
Mr. Yotchanan also called on the public to support Pheu Thai for the sake of improving education and the health of their children. We will do our best.
He further stated that to declare Pheu Thai’s unity and strength, the party and its candidates stand firmly together to care for the people. We are ready to work with Bangkok authorities because we know the city faces many problems. Those who enter must have unity and be ready to act immediately. Vote for both the party and its candidates.
