Pheu Thai Clarifies Suriya Holds Only 30 Million Baht in Aircraft Shares, Rest Owned by Relatives

Pheu Thai's deputy spokesperson clarified that Suriya's plane tax payments are proper and that he only invested 30 million baht together with relatives.

On 6 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Kritchanon Ayyapanya, deputy spokesperson of the Pheu Thai Party, explained the online allegations regarding Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Pheu Thai's prime ministerial candidate, owning a private plane. The aircraft, a Gulfstream G550 valued over 862 million baht, was imported and had its value-added tax duly paid to the Customs Department since September 2024. In the asset declaration submitted by Mr. Suriya to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), it is clearly stated that he holds shares worth only 30 million baht, while the remaining 832 million baht is owned proportionally by a group of relatives.

Regarding rumors that the plane was used to transport ammunition or election funds, Mr. Kritchanon affirmed these claims are false and are politically motivated distortions. The last time Mr. Suriya used the plane was in early November 2025, and it was not used in any manner as alleged. He urged the public to exercise discernment when receiving news, especially near election times when malicious parties might spread damaging rumors. All information can be verified through the asset declarations submitted to the NACC.
