Blue Faction Ready to Hear Big Democrat Party Rally Closing Feb 8, 2026 Election

"Abhisit" has arrived "Blue Faction" is ready to attend the big "Democrat Party" rally closing the Feb 8, 2026 election

At 16:00 on 6 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that at the One Bangkok Forum building, 3rd floor, the Democrat Party held a major rally to close the campaign before election day under the title "The Safe Way Out, Trust Abhisit" During the event, the party presented its 27 main policies. At the venue entrance, two blue watering cans labeled "Party" and "District" were displayed for supporters to take symbolic photos, similar to campaign clips encouraging votes for both the party and district candidates. Standees of the three prime ministerial candidates were also available for supporters to take commemorative photos.

At 16:30, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat Party leader, Mr. Korn Chatikavanij, and Mrs. Kadee Liewpairot, deputy party leader and prime ministerial candidates ranked 1-3, met supporters at the entrance. They were surrounded by many taking photos and giving Mr. Abhisit cheek kisses.

Mr. Abhisit revealed that although only one day remained before election day, he was working fully because they had started later than others due to various conditions, but they had to do their best and had come a long way. Regarding today's rally, he did not plan any surprises but aimed to clearly convey that the next two days were crucial for voters’ decisions. From his field visits, he believed Bangkok residents would turn their attention back to them. How many would do so would be seen on 8 Feb.

When asked about the debate on 5 Feb, where Mr. Abhisit seemed to want to talk with Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Abhisit said he simply wanted those aspiring to be prime minister to be ready to enter a process of scrutiny. Elections are not ceremonial but a universal process where leaders present visions and exchange views with other parties.

He stressed the importance of the legal requirement for parties to submit policies to the Election Commission for public knowledge. If a party submits only 10 policies but campaigns with more, it raises the question whether those extra policies are official since they were not included in the submission.

When asked about Mr. Anutin's response that he did not want to talk with Mr. Abhisit as it would be pointless, Mr. Abhisit said, "He did not speak to me but to the public. I only want to allow people to compare. Whatever he says about me, that’s fine. The prime minister may feel powerful and use state media as government, thinking that campaigning in the south and disparaging us is enough. But I believe those with democratic spirit must be ready to compete."
