Anutin Blesses Potential Win of Over 180 MPs, Confirms Cabinet Posts for Ekniti, Sihasak, and Supachai

Anutin expressed approval after being asked about polls indicating more than 180 MPs, urging patience in forming the government. He confirmed cabinet seats for Ekniti, Sihasak, and Supachai as deputy prime ministers combined with ministerial roles, emphasizing no changes to chapters 1 and 2 and no tampering with Article 112.

At 14:50 on 7 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Anutin Charnvirakul, party leader and prime ministerial candidate, was asked if he was confident about securing over 180 MP seats as polls suggest. He replied, "Amen." When asked about rumors of the Orange, Red, and Blue factions joining forces against the Navy Blue faction to form a government, Anutin said, "I only saw Navy Blue fighting against Orange, Red, and Blue two days ago—Navy Blue alone."

When asked if this meant he could lead government formation alone, Anutin said he adheres to his principle of waiting to see the election results first, as the decision belongs solely to the people. "We cannot speak prematurely. Bhumjaithai always listens to the people. We must respect and honor their voice and will continue to hold to that principle."

Regarding his final campaign speech, where he announced appointing Sihasak Puangkaetkaew, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, and Supachai Sutamphan as deputy prime ministers who would also serve as ministers with locked ministries, when asked if he had discussed this with coalition partners, Anutin said, "That is a condition of Bhumjaithai if we lead government formation. The cabinet has 36 members including the prime minister. As long as it’s legal and constitutional, and the total number of ministers does not exceed 36, it’s acceptable."

When asked if the government formation talks with coalition partners would begin immediately after election results are known around 20:00-21:00, Anutin said, "We will wait for clarity first. Let’s be patient."

Asked if he has a timeline in mind for forming a coalition quickly if he leads, Anutin said the first step is to certify the MPs’ status, as the prime minister must be named in the House. Coordination and discussions still have time and aren’t difficult. "I have said all along that after the election, everyone can almost guess the direction. Let the people decide fully first, and then we will act according to their wishes."

Asked if the upcoming coalition would bring new dimensions if he leads, Anutin said they must consider the number of MPs each party has. The Bhumjaithai Party has always prioritized listening to the people's voice as the main principle.

When asked if they can partner with any party without conditions, Anutin said the condition of Bhumjaithai is mutual respect. Policies must not raise doubts, violate morality, or go against Thai society and culture, such as casino policies. Also, they must not amend chapters 1 and 2 of the constitution or Article 112. "Actually, the framework is very narrow. We won’t say whom we will or won’t partner with because all political party decisions come from the party executive committee."
