Anutin, Newin, and Chaiyachon Check In at Buriram to Vote, Confident Bhumjaithai Will Make History

Anutin, Newin, and Chaiyachon checked in at Buriram to exercise their voting rights, showing no concern over border disturbances. They expressed confidence that Bhumjaithai will make history and noted that Thai citizens are the most receptive yet to the party's message and policies now accepted widely by the public.

On 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at Polling Station 9, Thai Charoen Village Hall, Buriram province, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived with Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, and family to vote and participate in the referendum. Anutin wore a casual navy outfit with a heart-shaped hat and smiled broadly. He reported that citizens nationwide are enthusiastically exercising their rights with joy. He noted the election system is clear—with distinct colors, numbers, and booths—making spoiled ballots unlikely.

Regarding the border area issues, the Prime Minister said the situation remains normal, with no violence or clashes as some reports suggested. The administration has prepared contingency plans 1-2-3 to ensure safety. This visit marks the tenth time Anutin has come to vote here with Newin, a customary practice including sharing a meal together afterward.

Asked about confidence in Bhumjaithai's voter base, Anutin modestly replied that he and the party have done their utmost but cannot control anyone's mind. They can only present their intentions and hope citizens will give them the opportunity to serve the people again. After voting, he planned to return to Bangkok to await the election results.

Chaiyachon Chidchob, Bhumjaithai party secretary-general, said after voting that confidence in this election is higher than ever because the party has proven itself through its performance and dedication. Although it governed for only two months previously, it laid important foundations. He believes this time Thai people will be more open to Bhumjaithai than ever before. He urged the public to exercise their voting rights fully to enable the country to progress with dignity in the eyes of the international community.
