“Itim - Suriya” Exercise Voting Rights, Urge Public to Vote to Shape Nation’s Future

"Itim Parit" exercised his voting and referendum rights, inviting citizens to come to the polls on this historic day to determine the country's future. Meanwhile, "Suriya" led his wife and son to cast their votes.

On 8 February 2026 at 10:10 a.m., Mr. Parit Watcharasindhu, a party-list MP candidate for the Prachachon Party, arrived to vote at Polling Station 1, Sawasdee Wittaya School, Khlong Tan Nuea Subdistrict, Watthana District, Constituency 4, Bangkok. He said today is a historic election day with both parliamentary elections and a referendum happening simultaneously. He invited all citizens to exercise their rights and voices to determine the nation's future. Those who voted early should remember to also participate in the referendum at their registered location. He emphasized that everyone should protect their rights and work together to shape the country's future.

When asked if he was concerned that many people might not know they need to vote in both the MP election and the referendum, requiring officials to explain repeatedly, Mr. Parit said this is why continuous public communication through the media about the referendum is essential. He reiterated that voters today will receive three ballots: two for MPs — green and pink — and one yellow ballot for the referendum. At this polling station, the atmosphere is smooth, and the officials have designed a convenient system without issues. He hopes all polling stations will be the same. He urged the public not to forget they have three ballots and not to use only two while neglecting the referendum ballot.

Regarding whether the process is complicated due to two name checks, Mr. Parit explained that the voting path is straightforward: after dropping the two MP ballots, voters will meet officials checking names for the third ballot. If this procedure is followed at all polling stations, it should work well. He reminded citizens to remember to use their third ballot. When asked about public concerns over the referendum voting, Mr. Parit stressed that he wants as many people as possible to vote because this is a crucial day for citizens to participate in deciding the country’s future. He will monitor the statistics closely and urged those who already voted early not to forget to participate in the referendum today, as their duty is not yet complete.

Mr. Parit hopes that voter turnout in this election will exceed that of 2023, which saw the highest turnout in history, and that this election will set a new record that all Thais can share in achieving. Asked about public enthusiasm for voting, he said he believes the people have high expectations for a better future through this election and referendum.

He therefore invites all citizens to exercise their rights and vote to shape the country’s future. Those who voted early should not forget to also participate in the referendum.

“Suriya” leads family to cast votes.

Meanwhile, Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Pheu Thai party prime ministerial candidate, together with his wife and son, voted in the election and referendum at 12:00 p.m. at Yu Pen Suk Anusorn School, Polling Station 2, Constituency 22, Nong Bon Subdistrict, Prawet District, Bangkok. The polling station is located within Yu Pen Suk Anusorn School (Soi Supapong 1, Intersection 7). Mr. Suriya is listed as number 164 among 740 eligible voters at this station. After voting, he said today is the election and referendum day, the most important day for citizens leading toward democracy. Everyone has equal rights and voices. He urged everyone to come out and vote so that every vote counts.
