Ink Joins Pheu Thai Party Peoples Party Leaders Hold Intense Meeting Awaiting Vote Count Results

After the 2026 election polls closed, supporters of "Bhumjaithai," "Pheu Thai," and "People's Party" gradually entered their party offices to watch the vote count, following opinion polls showing a tight race.

On 8 Feb 2026, after the election polls closed, reporters at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters reported a quiet atmosphere with only some leaders present. It is expected that later this evening, the leaders, including prime ministerial candidate Anutin Charnvirakul, will arrive to await unofficial vote results.

At the Pheu Thai Party, the atmosphere was lively as supporters came to observe the vote count, cheering intermittently. At 16:10, Paethongtarn Shinawatra, former prime minister and head of the Pheu Thai family, arrived at the party headquarters. By 17:05, election director Suriyas Juangroongruangkit arrived. Suriyas expressed confidence that Pheu Thai’s internal polls will meet targets despite some external polls showing the party trailing; he said he would wait two more hours but remains personally confident after consulting MPs in the field. When asked if he was still confident about securing 200 seats, he responded that the number is likely close to that.

At 17:10, Phumtham Vejchayachai, Pheu Thai's party-list candidate, arrived at headquarters smiling and told reporters after polls closed that Pheu Thai has done its best. Regarding the NIDA poll suggesting Pheu Thai would place third, he said he did not know if NIDA would contradict its own prediction this time.

At 17:30, prime ministerial candidate Yotsanan Wongsawat arrived at the Pheu Thai headquarters to follow election results. Upon arrival, Pheu Thai fans offered encouragement, took photos, and presented him with a red teapot.

At the People's Party headquarters, leaders and orange-clad supporters gradually gathered to await unofficial vote count results.

Meanwhile, polls from various agencies show a close competition between the People's Party and Bhumjaithai. Regarding this, "Ice Rakchanok" briefly stated confidence that the People's Party will win the election before going upstairs to join a meeting with party leaders.

At the Glatham Party headquarters on Ratchada Road in Chatuchak district, Bangkok, from 15:00 onward, media began arriving continuously to cover the party, believed to be a key factor in "government formation" despite its smaller size. Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, prime ministerial candidate and party advisory chairman, along with his family, voted earlier in Phayao province before returning to Bangkok to follow the election results alongside the media after 17:00.

Previously, the Glatham Party had 26 MPs in the past government. The party aims to increase its number of MPs in this election by recruiting former MPs from various parties and believes it can secure seats in Bangkok by enlisting key figures such as Paweena Hongsakul and Air Force Captain Anudit Nakornthap to strengthen the team.

Additionally, it is noted that Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat has devised a strategy by fielding constituency candidates distributed across all regions, totaling 350 districts, to expand his base and challenge the established power of major parties.

Key target areas include three districts in Phayao province and the southern provinces of Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani. The party aims to contest in 112 districts, expecting to secure about 35% of those seats, based on the existing MP base within Glatham, with hopes to join the government and continue agricultural policies within the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

After polls closed at 17:00, Glatham Party members gathered to watch poll results and analyze data from various sources. Among them, party secretary Pai Lik appeared casually dressed and was shown some poll results by party members. He then remarked "50/50." When reporters asked what the "50" referred to, Pai Lik did not answer and immediately went upstairs to the second floor of the headquarters.
