The Democrat Party is lively as blue-shirt supporters flock to the Earth Goddess Plaza. Abhisit eagerly follows real-time vote counts while Sathit admits the southern contest faces fierce financial pressures.
On 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Democrat Party headquarters, senior party leaders gradually arrived to monitor the official election vote count. Leading the group was Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, party leader and prime ministerial candidate, accompanied by the prime ministerial candidate team and key party figures. At the Earth Goddess Plaza, a large group of Democrat supporters, mostly wearing blue shirts, gathered densely to await vote results. The party had set up a large 72-inch TV screen to broadcast real-time vote counts.
Mr. Sathit Wongnongtoey, deputy party leader, spoke about the situation in the southern region, a key party stronghold. He acknowledged that this election was particularly intense and worrisome. The southern vote contest this time is quite challenging because the party’s popularity cannot compete against the strong financial influence (use of capital).
