2026 Buriram Election Results: Bhumjaithai Party Leads, Expected to Sweep All 10 Constituencies

Voting has concluded for all 10 constituencies in Buriram, covering 2,718 polling stations. Citizens watched the vote counting with great interest. Unofficial tallies show Bhumjaithai Party candidates leading both in constituency and party-list seats, far ahead of candidates from the Prachachon, Pheu Thai, and Kla Tham parties. Bhumjaithai is expected to capture all 10 constituency seats, sweeping the entire province. The Buriram Election Commission director overseeing the count reported the overall process was orderly and anticipates unofficial election results by no later than 10 p.m.

On 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters covered the atmosphere as voting closed for members of the House of Representatives and the referendum across all 10 constituencies, encompassing 2,718 polling stations in 23 districts of Buriram province at 5 p.m.

At polling station number 24 in constituency 1, located at Sala Ruamjai, Municipal School 1, Buriram Municipality, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Buriram province, election officials began counting votes. A large number of citizens and supporters of candidates gathered to observe and cheer for their favored party candidates at various polling stations.




Mr. Surapong Thipothot, Director of the Buriram Provincial Election Commission Office, along with Mr. Ukrit Hongthaisong, Chair of the Election Commission for Constituency 1, and other Election Commission officials, visited to monitor the vote counting. The overall election situation at all polling stations was reported to be proceeding smoothly and orderly.




The vote count showed a close race among candidates with the leading candidate being number 5, Mr. Sanong Thepaksonnarong of the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), who is ahead of Mr. Thanayut Yuenyang, candidate number 3 from the Prachachon Party, and Mr. Peeraphat Thongtheerasakul, candidate number 2 from the Pheu Thai Party. Additionally, in the party-list vote, the Bhumjaithai Party is leading over the Prachachon and Pheu Thai parties, which follow closely behind. In the referendum vote, the 'disapprove' option is only slightly ahead of the 'approve' vote.

At polling station number 8 in constituency 2, located at the community hall in Ban Sadao, Village No. 12, Sadao Subdistrict, Phlapphla Chai District, Buriram province, the vote count showed Ms. Natthida Lekudakorn, known as Nong Ploy, candidate number 5 from Bhumjaithai Party, leading by a wide margin with 335 votes. Her opponents, Mr. Witthilak Jansompat of the Prachachon Party received 45 votes, and Mr. Prachya Trikarnjana of the Pheu Thai Party received 5 votes. There were 19 spoiled ballots and 10 abstentions, totaling 428 ballots. The party-list vote also showed Bhumjaithai Party leading significantly over all other parties. Regarding the referendum, the 'disapprove' votes remain higher than the 'approve' votes.




Mr. Surapong Thipothot, Director of the Buriram Provincial Election Commission Office, stated that Buriram has 10 constituencies with a total of 2,718 polling and referendum stations, plus 11 out-of-constituency polling stations. Voting from morning until the close of polls proceeded smoothly with voters cooperating steadily, and the Election Commission carried out its duties effectively.



Currently, the vote counting is underway. Preliminary figures indicate that over 70 percent of eligible voters participated. Citizens can follow unofficial election results on the Election Commission’s website, which will display consolidated vote counts for all 10 Buriram constituencies and nationwide results for all 400 constituencies. It is expected that unofficial results for Buriram will be available around 10 p.m.
