The Election Commission's unofficial results after four hours of counting show the Democrat Party has increased its number of MPs to a total of 20 seats.
On 8 Feb 2026, after polls closed and counting proceeded until 20:45, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva expressed gratitude to voters who participated, especially those who voted for the party. Although counting is not complete, the initial seat and vote counts align with the party's expectations. There is a significant increase in party-list MPs, notably across almost every southern province and with Sukhothai topping the party-list vote. While constituency results remain uncertain, it is believed that as more areas finish counting, additional seats will be gained. Media estimates place the total seats around 20, plus or minus. The party is prepared to perform its role in the parliament and acknowledges that winning MPs in Bangkok is quite difficult.
At 20:54, unofficial Election Commission data showed the Democrat Party winning 11 constituency MPs and 10 party-list MPs, totaling 21 seats, based on 17% of votes counted.
