Suchart Chomklin thanked all supporters for helping him lead the Chonburi District 1 MP election by a wide margin. He admitted this election was very difficult, describing the area as a tough battleground. He said today proved that if a representative is not good, no one would vote for them.
On 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Suchart Chomklin gave an interview after the polls closed and votes were counted. The unofficial results for the Chonburi District 1 MP election at about 21:34 showed Suchart Chomklin of the Bhumjaithai Party leading with 2,416 votes, followed by Worath Sirirak of the People's Party with 1,426 votes, and Ratrut of the Pheu Thai Party with 116 votes.
Suchart Chomklin said this was his return as a district representative, marking his third term as a district MP and one term as a party-list MP, totaling four terms. He expressed gratitude for all that has been done so far and said today is a source of encouragement. He thanked all supporters from every sector, including local leaders, communities, family, and like-minded friends.
He said deciding to run for district MP this time was a heavy and difficult decision, as District 1 of Mueang district is a tough battleground. The area includes Burapha University and many housing estates numbering in the tens of thousands. Having grown up here and served as a Subdistrict Administrative Organization member, provincial councillor, and MP for over 20 years, he noted that in one year alone, about a thousand people passed away during funeral ceremonies he attended.
He wanted to say that his work has not only maintained the existing support base but also expanded it. He acknowledged that housing estates are very difficult for politicians to gain votes from. He said he woke up at 4:30 a.m. to stand in front of housing estates to greet and ask for votes for about a month, with patience and dedication to serving the people of Chonburi, especially District 1 where he grew up. He thanked all parties and admitted this election was very tough, as the opponent's votes kept rising. If he had the same vote count as before, he might have lost today. But if a representative behaves poorly, no one would choose them. Today, he said, he has proven that.
