Chris Potrananun expressed thanks for one million votes, exposed election irregularities, and urged the Election Commission to investigate vote-buying in over 100 constituencies.
On 8 February 2026, Chris Potrananun, chairman of the Economic Party, along with party leaders, held a press conference to thank voters nationwide for their trust in the election. He said that although the vote count was not yet official, the party expected to receive over 1,000,000 votes in total.
Chris reported receiving numerous complaints throughout the day about vote-buying behavior in over 100 constituencies, supported by photographic evidence of banknotes attached to election guidance documents. Additionally, many Bangkok voters were relocated to different polling stations without prior notice, causing delays as they searched for their new locations, with officials unable to explain the reasons. There were also cases of ballots being destroyed in some areas, directly undermining the credibility of the results. The party questions whether the Election Commission's conduct is honest and fair enough.
Phumipong Chongsakul, acting party spokesperson, reaffirmed the Economic Party's stance that it will not overlook these issues. The party will represent the public in scrutinizing the work of independent organizations and state officials to protect every vote from being lost or distorted. We will serve as a voice worthy of every vote received, regardless of the number of parliamentary seats won, and will continue working until the country changes.
