Ekarat Declares Victory, Rebukes Political Analysts Who Predicted Kalatham Party Would Win No Seats

Ekarat expressed thanks to the public for their trust, contradicting political analysts who had predicted Kalatham Party might not secure any parliamentary seats.

At 10:30 p.m. on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Kalatham Party Coordination Center in the Northeast region, Khon Kaen province, Mr. Ekarat Changlao, Deputy Leader of Kalatham Party, along with members and prospective MPs from Khon Kaen, held a press conference after learning unofficial election results. He thanked people nationwide for their trust and support of Kalatham Party in this election.

Mr. Ekarat said that according to unofficial vote counts, Kalatham Party is expected to win about 3-4 seats. This is a great success for the new party, which has earned the trust of citizens across the country, making them feel warm, encouraged, and relieved after hard work during the campaign period.

"Although we slightly missed our target, it is still considered a success as many expected. I must apologize to some political critics and pundits who predicted Kalatham Party would win only a few seats or possibly none. Tonight's vote count shows the party secured 3-4 seats, defying earlier predictions," he said.

The deputy party leader also spoke about the campaign strategy, saying the party focused on addressing ongoing problems faced by citizens, especially in areas where incumbent MPs have held office for a long time but have not effectively solved the public's issues. The party used this as a main working principle to affirm its commitment to fulfilling the role of MPs and genuinely responding to the people's hardships.

Regarding the overall party success, Mr. Ekarat credited the party's chairman and advisor, Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, describing him as the party's unifying force with dedication and commitment to serving the people. This has led to widespread public support and is a proud achievement for Kalatham Party.

On the topic of ministerial quotas, Mr. Ekarat said he could not provide detailed answers at this time. However, he emphasized that the most important achievement today is the trust shown by the public. Kalatham Party is ready to move forward fully to promote and resolve issues for the people.
