“Chaiwut, Dr. Ae, Jatuporn” Fail to Secure Party-List MP Seats – Tae Mongkolkit’s Party Wins One Seat with World-Changing Policy

The party-list MP vote counts reveal that Chaiwut, Dr. Ae, and Jatuporn failed to enter parliament. Meanwhile, Tae Mongkolkit’s party promoted a world-changing policy to get its leader elected. The Economic Party won four seats, though its leader, Gen. Rangsee, did not become an MP.

On 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Election Commission office, reporters reported that as of 23:10 GMT+7, with 85% of the party-list MP votes counted unofficially for 100 MPs, major parties secured seats: the People’s Party led with 8,014,543 votes and 30 MPs; Bhumjaithai ranked second with 5,164,577 votes and 19 MPs; Pheu Thai third with 4,632,171 votes and 17 MPs; and the Democrats fourth with 2,974,029 votes and 11 MPs. Several parties with many constituency MPs received few party-list MPs, such as Kla Party with 546,709 votes earning only 1 party-list MP. Similarly, Prachachart Party won only 4 constituency seats, down from 7 previously, and gained 350,635 party-list votes to get 1 seat. Ruamthai Sang Chart Party, which previously won 13 party-list seats, now secured just 1 seat with 595,380 votes.

Meanwhile, newly established parties include the Economic Party led by Gen. Rangsee Kittiyanansap. Although it won no constituency seats, it earned 918,945 party-list votes, translating to 4 seats. However, Gen. Rangsee did not become an MP as he was ranked 10th on the list. The New Alternative Party, led by Mr. Mongkolkit Suksintharanon, also won no constituency seats but earned 142,043 party-list votes, gaining 1 seat for party leader Mr. Rachen Trakoolwiang, since Mr. Mongkolkit was ranked third on the list. Thai Khao Mai Party, led by Mr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, failed to win any seats, as did Rakchat Party of Mr. Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn. The New Opportunity Party of Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat won only one constituency seat in Uttaradit District 2 but did not receive enough party-list votes. Seri Ruam Thai Party, despite winning no constituency seats, gained 154,409 party-list votes, earning 1 seat, allowing Pol. Gen. Seripisut Temiyavet to return to parliament.
