Profile of Ploy Natthida, Granddaughter of Newin, Youngest Prospective MP with an International Profile

Profile of Ploy Natthida, granddaughter of Newin Chidchob, who won the election in Buriram's 2nd district as the youngest prospective MP, yet with an international-level profile.

On 9 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that Ploy Natthida Lekudakorn, a 25-year-old Bhumjaithai Party candidate making her national political debut, won the 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7 election in Buriram's 2nd district with 54,410 votes. She decisively defeated her rival, Witthilak Chanthanasombat of the Prachachon Party, who received 13,625 votes, becoming the youngest prospective member of the House of Representatives.

At 25, Ploy Natthida hails from Buriram's prominent family. She is the daughter of Phusit Lekudakorn, the chief of Buriram Provincial Administrative Organization, and the granddaughter of Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club and former minister in several ministries.

Her education is notable: Ploy Natthida earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Sussex in England, and a master's degree in International Business from Hult International Business School, also in England. She is thus viewed as a promising young politician both for Buriram province and the Bhumjaithai Party.
