Among them were Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, deputy party leader, and Mr. Pichan Chaopattanawong, a party executive. Mr. Pichan said regarding the Bangkok area where the party won all 33 districts, that after the election, the People's Party candidates in Bangkok will hold a rally to thank every vote. However, the party headquarters is currently following up on irregularities found in vote counting but is not disclosing details yet, preferring to wait for more information as reports have come from both party supporters and candidates.
Regarding whether the party executives will hold a meeting to review lessons learned since the election results did not meet expectations, Mr. Pichan said that elections are one matter, but the short-term focus and priority is on the vote counting process due to the incoming information.
On rumors that Mr. Sarayut Jaikul, the party secretary-general, might resign if the party's vote count falls below 200, Mr. Pichan said he prefers to wait and focus on the urgent task of verifying vote counts first and does not want other issues to be raised at this time.
When asked if there have been talks with the Pheu Thai Party about being in opposition or government, Mr. Pichan said that is a matter for Pheu Thai to decide about joining the government; the People's Party remains clear about its own stance.
At 10:58 GMT+7, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, party leader, arrived at the party headquarters. He briefly said that there will be a rally this afternoon to thank voters in Bangkok, and that the executives will meet this morning to plan and prepare for upcoming work.
Mr. Nattapong appeared cheerful upon arriving at the party headquarters today, smiling and greeting the media as usual.
