
Anutin Chanvirakul entered the Government House to pay respects to sacred entities after the Bhumjaithai Party won the 2026 election as the top party. He revealed that he had requested blessings but received more than he asked for, which serve as reminders to always do good.
At 12:05 p.m. on 9 Feb 2026 GMT+7. Anutin Chanvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, serving as the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT). And the prime ministerial candidate arrived at the Government House to assume his duties. At 12:09 p.m., Anutin descended from the Thai Khu Fa Building to pay respects at the spirit houses of the land deity and ancestral spirits, the sacred entities of the Government House. He then revealed: "I ask for blessings from the sacred entities daily as a good omen."
When asked by reporters if this visit was because his prayers had been answered successfully, Anutin responded: "I come to express my gratitude. What I asked for, they gave me even more than I requested." On whether this means the country truly has sacred entities, Anutin replied, "We believe in them. They serve as reminders to us to always do good deeds."
Regarding a question about the prime minister posting a photo visiting his parents on 8 Feb, Anutin said, "I visit them every week." When further asked what his parents said after the election win, he revealed, "As parents, we must go pay respects and thank them for giving us life, education, and guidance to have a sense of responsibility to serve the country."
Afterward, the prime minister returned to the Thai Khu Fa Building to pay respects to the Narasingha statue replica, where recently a lucky bamboo plant was added as decoration. This was placed during the election period. The bamboo is considered auspicious in Feng Shui, symbolizing prosperity, stability, honesty, and abundance.
