Anutin smiled as leader of the government coalition and signaled a revival of relations with Pheu Thai, comparing it to building a new Friendship Bridge, before indicating that 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' would be his first task after assuming office.
On 9 February 2026, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke with a bright smile expressing pride in being trusted by the public to lead the government formation. He said he felt extremely honored that the people had confidence in him and Bhumjaithai to become the leading party in forming the new government.
When asked about signs of restoring relations with Pheu Thai, which previously seemed to have burned bridges, Anutin replied meaningfully, "There are already five Thai-Lao Friendship Bridges. Soon there will be a sixth." Asked about progress in forming the government coalition, he said there were procedures underway; all ideas were being considered but must be brought to the party executive committee meeting.
When asked what his first priority would be after officially becoming prime minister, Anutin said, "Let me be officially confirmed first." Then, as he walked up the stairs to his office, the prime minister made a plus sign for the media to capture.
