
The Royal Thai Police Election Security Center revealed that 151 election-related offenses occurred during the 2026 election period, ranging from campaign sign vandalism and vote buying to ballot tearing. Only 9 cases involved vote buying, while the People's Party experienced the highest number of vandalized signs. Investigations are being intensified to expand these findings.
On 9 February 2026, the Election Security and Order Maintenance Center of the Royal Thai Police disclosed statistics on election-related crimes for the 2026 House of Representatives election, covering the period from 26 December 2025 to 5 February 2026.
Offenses recorded include vandalism of campaign signs, intimidation, complaints to the Election Commission, public insults, false accusations, theft complaints, alcohol sales, vote buying and selling inducements, theft, defamation, complaints to the Election Commission, public insults, alcohol sales, violations of the Computer Crime Act, totaling 151 cases. These were distributed among the Metropolitan Police Bureau with 16 cases; Region 1 Police Bureau with 27; Region 2 with 7; Region 3 with 9; Region 4 with 20; Region 5 with 18; Region 6 with 11; Region 7 with 26; Region 8 with 3; and Region 9 with 4 cases.
Regarding the proportion of political parties whose campaign signs were vandalized, the People's Party had 45 signs damaged, representing 39%; Pheu Thai Party had 19 signs (18%); Bhumjaithai Party 18 signs (15%); Democrat Party 12 signs (9%); and Kla Party 9 signs (6%). The other 11 political parties each experienced 1-2% of sign vandalism.
The report on election-related offenses from 7 to 8 February 2026 at 6:00 p.m. indicated 15 cases of ballot tearing, with the highest number in Region 4 Police at 6 cases; Region 5 Police with 3 cases; Region 2 Police with 2 cases; and Regions Metropolitan, 6, 7, and 9 each with one case.
Regarding vote buying, there were 9 cases in total: Region 8 Police had 4 cases, while Regions 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 each had one case. Other offenses, including photographing and inducement, were reported with Region 5 Police having 3 cases and Region 8 Police 2 cases.
