Seksit Yamsanguansak, a candidate from the People's Party, has navigated controversy after leading in votes over opponents holding doctoral degrees from various parties. He asked people not to judge him prematurely and requested a chance to freshen up before being assessed.

On 9 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that after unofficial election results were released, numerous controversies and criticisms emerged on social media. Among these was the drama surrounding Seksit Yamsanguansak, candidate for Bangkok MP District 2 from the People's Party. A former member of the Thammasat United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship, he leads in votes against competitors in the district, many of whom hold doctoral degrees, such as Dr. Patcharin Samsiripong from the Bhumjaithai Party, Dr. Jesada Lertsanasan from the Democrat Party, and Dr. David Mokarphong from the Pheu Thai Party, positioning him as a prospective MP.

After learning the unofficial election results, Seksit posted on Facebook, expressing gratitude for all the votes of confidence given to the People's Party in this election.

He said, “Every vote from our fellow citizens in this election is meaningful. I, Seksit Yamsanguansak, will carry the hopes and dreams of the people on my shoulders and embrace the commitment to political and social change to the fullest extent.”

“I am ready to work devotedly and sincerely to serve all citizens and to solve their problems. As long as we keep fighting, we have not lost. Our single victory can change this country forever.”

He also commented amid the drama, saying, “Please don’t judge me yet. Give me a chance to take a shower and get dressed first. Let me shower and fix my hair, please.”

  • He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science (majoring in Politics and Governance) with first-class honors from Thammasat University, with a minor in Sociology and Anthropology.
