Korn Advises Against Letting Citizens Feel Abandoned, Expresses Heartache Over Vote Counting Situation in Chonburi

Korn Chatikavanij, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, revealed that he followed the vote counting issues in Chonburi District 1 and felt heartbroken.
He advised against letting citizens feel abandoned.

On 10 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Korn Chatikavanij, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, posted on Facebook stating that he had followed the vote counting problems in Chonburi and felt heartbroken. He was pained that citizens felt abandoned by the government and responsible authorities. He could not understand why no one was able to immediately clarify the situation clearly to the public. This reminded him of his first election when he had to sit on a suspicious ballot box (improperly opened) all night. He refused to allow officials to open and count the ballots without explanation. Even if they lost, it was acceptable; even vote buying was a decision made by voters themselves. However, ballot stuffing and fraudulent counting were truly unacceptable to him.

Korn stated that the Election Commission’s duty is to do everything to ensure that the public trusts the election process is transparent and fair.
Tonight in Chonburi, he heard a local say, “They are the Election Commission. Their sole duty is to manage a fair election. Why are they not doing it?” He emphasized never to let citizens feel they have no support.
