Pheu Thai Party Aligns with Public Concerns Over Numerous Election Irregularities, Demands Accountability

The election was riddled with irregularities. Phumtham revealed that the Pheu Thai Party shares the public’s view and insists that someone must be held accountable. He urged the Election Commission not to remain detached from the problems, emphasizing that democracy cannot move forward amid widespread doubts.

On 10 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, a leader of the Pheu Thai Party, posted on Facebook stating that the abnormal election must have accountability. The party aligns with the feelings of many citizens who see this election as highly irregular, with numerous suspicious issues severely undermining confidence in the entire process.

Mr. Phumtham noted that many citizens do not believe the election was fair or that the Election Commission acted impartially. Doubts also arose regarding the roles of certain state mechanisms, such as the administrative authorities, police, military, local government organizations, village health volunteers, subdistrict chiefs, and village headmen, all of whom were involved and caused significant public distrust.

This question cannot be ignored. The case in Chonburi is just the latest example reflecting that these problems did not occur by chance, and the Election Commission cannot remain above such circumstances.

Democracy cannot advance amid widespread skepticism. This election must have accountability for the irregularities that occurred, and if any laws were broken, those responsible must face justice. We will not remain silent in protecting the sanctity of every vote and the public’s trust in democracy. Transparency is not about any one party; it is the foundation of the country’s justice system.
