
Phattharaphong of the Bhumjaithai Party, winner of the Phichit District 1 election, has petitioned the Election Commission to conduct a new vote count to ensure transparency, clear doubts, and provide fairness equally to all candidates involved in the race.
On 10 Feb 2026 at 10:00 a.m., reporters at the Phichit Provincial Election Commission Office reported that Phattharaphong Phattharaprasit, also known as Kamnan North, Bhumjaithai Party candidate for Phichit District 1 and current leading vote-getter, submitted a letter to the Phichit Election Commission Director requesting a full recount and verification of the election votes and referendum in District 1.
The letter states that numerous social media posts have highlighted that in District 1, covering Mueang Phichit, Sam Ngam, and Wachirabarami districts, there were 100,830 voters but a total of 130,175 votes counted, exceeding the number of voters by 29,345 ballots, indicating possible ballot discrepancies.
I, Phattharaphong Phattharaprasit, candidate for Phichit District 1 with the Bhumjaithai Party, request the Election Commission to verify and recount the votes in Phichit District 1 to ensure accuracy, transparency, and fairness equally for all candidates.
Phattharaphong stated that although he is currently leading, he decided to request a recount to bring clarity and remove doubts among the public, ensuring the election results are accurate, transparent, and fair to all candidates so no one can raise objections later.
