“Suchart” Pleased with Election Results, Friends in Group Win 16-17 Seats No Talks Yet on Ministerial Quotas

“Suchart” is pleased that election results hit the target, with 16-17 friends in his group winning seats. He has not yet discussed ministerial quota allocations, which are the responsibility of Bhumjaithai's executive committee.,

At 09:30 on 10 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at Government House, Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and a leader of Bhumjaithai party in Chonburi, spoke about the five Bhumjaithai candidates in Chonburi who won seats, saying they are all from the same team and work together.

Regarding whether the work in Chonburi met the target and if there have been discussions about ministerial positions, Suchart said they are not looking that far ahead. Instead, since they were candidates, they focused on doing their best and proving to the people that their votes reflect 20 years of accumulated work.

When asked how many candidates from Suchart's group won overall, he said they all work under Bhumjaithai party and are friends, with about 16-17 people entering from provinces including Chanthaburi, Trat, Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, and Chonburi. This meets their targets, as they trust all their friends have the capability.

Asked whether this would result in one minister and one deputy minister, Suchart replied that such discussions have not been held. The focus now is on official election certification, aiming for 95% confirmation to enter the House of Representatives, after which the next step is to select the prime minister according to the law.

When questioned about allocation under Anutin, Bhumjaithai's leader and the likely new prime minister, Suchart said there have been no discussions on that. The approach is to take one step at a time, ensuring certification first. As a party member, he must follow party regulations, and any negotiations or discussions are the responsibility of party executives.
