The Lampang Election Commission clarified public and voter concerns about over 7,000 spoiled ballots in election districts 2 and 4. They advised that a recount can be requested while vote counting is still ongoing and must be conducted at the polling station itself.
On 10 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Lampang Provincial Election Commission office, Mr. Thongnet Doojai, Director of the Lampang Provincial Election Commission, explained information and legal provisions regarding the parliamentary elections. This followed public and voter inquiries about an abnormally high number of spoiled ballots—exceeding 7,000—in election districts 2 and 4. He stated that during vote counting at the polling station, if there are doubts about incorrect counting or miscalling of votes, a recount can be requested while counting is still in progress, but it must be done at that polling station.
If the vote counting is complete, voters and the public can gather clear evidence indicating irregularities or lack of transparency at various polling stations to formally submit a petition for the commission's consideration according to the established procedures.
