Abhisit led a meeting with the executive committee and new MPs to devise a party overhaul strategy, focusing on cracking down on grey capital and preparing for local elections.
On 11 February 2026 at the Democrat Party headquarters, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva chaired a meeting of the party's executive committee along with new MPs and key leaders including former party leader Chuan Leekpai, Korn Chatikavanij, Kadee Liewpaiboon, party deputy leaders Rudklao Suwankiri, and party secretary-general Chaiwut Bannawat, as well as new MPs from various regions, to set the political direction post-election.
Abhisit congratulated all newly elected MPs, both constituency and party-list, stating that the next mission is to lay a long-term foundation for advancing the party, not just addressing immediate issues. The meeting emphasized the importance of transparent election scrutiny and acknowledged potential fraud during vote counting. They also focused on advancing the party's key policies to seriously investigate scam groups and the grey capital network.
The Democrat Party leader assigned the formation of working groups to reform party management structure, youth activities, and legislative drafting teams to prepare bills based on the party's campaign promises. These proposals will be submitted promptly once the parliamentary session opens. Preparations for the upcoming local elections were also discussed.
Abhisit also commented on the overall vote count, noting the party received 3.6 million votes under the party-list system, a figure close to the 2019 election results, reflecting a stable voter base that continues to trust the party's direction.
