Thanakorn Emphasizes Bhumjaithai Victory Comes from Tangible Achievements Over Rhetoric

Thanakorn urged protesters demanding a vote recount not to incite chaos, emphasizing that Bhumjaithai's victory comes from concrete achievements.

On 11 February 2026, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Minister of Industry, said in an interview regarding Bhumjaithai Party's leading election results that this victory reflects the public's recognition of tangible, effective work and real outcomes. Throughout the party's tenure in government, it has demonstrated professional economic management that has created stability and restored investor confidence, as reflected in the surge of stock market trading values following the election results.

Thanakorn added that under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's leadership, Bhumjaithai holds a clear stance on patriotism, religion, and the monarchy, decisively manages border issues, and implements policies that meet public needs, such as the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” scheme. Furthermore, the party's MPs maintain close, ongoing engagement in their constituencies, ensuring stable support that does not fluctuate with temporary trends like other parties. He also criticized the People's Party for focusing solely on structural reforms and being involved in negative behavior contradicting their campaign slogans, which has undermined public trust.

Regarding calls for a vote recount, Thanakorn stressed that this is a legal right exercised within the law's limits and at the discretion of the Election Commission (EC). Bhumjaithai is ready to accept any scrutiny. However, he urged activists to express their demands responsibly, avoiding incitement that disrupts public order. He also stated that losing parties should not go so far as to attempt to overturn the election. Everything should be addressed based on facts and legal procedures to maintain public peace.
