General Rangsi, leader of the Economic Party, affirms full commitment to governance and readiness to join the government to combat scammer gangs and address border issues along the Thai-Cambodian border.
On 11 February 2026, General Rangsi Kitiyanat, leader of the Economic Party, spoke on the program "Inside Thailand," emphasizing the party's political direction. He stated that the party continues to work fully in national administration and is ready to take on key national challenges, including the economy, security, and transnational crime—particularly cracking down on call center gangs and scammers, as well as addressing the Thai-Cambodian border issues.
General Rangsi said that if assigned a government role, he is ready to act immediately—whether it involves dismantling scammer networks, cutting off transnational crime channels, or managing border security. “If given responsibility, whether to combat scammers or ensure security, I will accept immediately. I am ready to work seriously.”
He stated that the party does not seek symbolic power but wants to "solve problems concretely" to build public confidence in safety and justice. Regarding party unity, General Rangsi noted that although the party has only three MPs, everyone follows the same direction, and key decisions clearly rest with the party leader. “We communicate well. The important decisions lie with the party leader. Everyone works toward the same goal.”
General Rangsi also expressed confidence in effectively overseeing the party's MPs, citing his extensive experience in administration and working with large teams.
Regarding his position as number 10 on the party list, he affirmed it was a deliberate choice to open space for younger generations to work and to avoid monopolizing political positions. “I want young people to have opportunities. I don’t want old MPs to block the new generation.” He emphasized that if he wanted to hold power, he could be placed at the top of the list but chose not to, aiming to foster a team-oriented political culture. “If I were an authoritarian party leader, I would have placed myself first on the list. But I didn’t—I focus on the work.”
General Rangsi added that the Economic Party is ready to work with all parties based on clear, transparent principles centered on the country’s interests, especially in addressing online crime, border security, and economic recovery to build long-term public trust.
