
Anutin presided over the grand opening of the Pak Nam Pho Patron Deities Parade and Chinese New Year celebration, notably choosing not to pick the traditional red orb. Instead, he selected a blue orb to feed the lion that officially started the event. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Nakhon Sawan for delivering five members of parliament, pledging to work for his hometown and the country.
On 11 Feb 2026 in Nakhon Sawan province, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the opening ceremony of the “Pak Nam Pho Patron Deities Parade and Pak Nam Pho Chinese New Year Festival 2026” held at the sandy shore of the Chao Phraya River in Mueang District, Nakhon Sawan. He was accompanied by Ms. Thanonon Niramit, wife of Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa; Mr. Chada Thaiseth; Mr. Atsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior; along with related agencies and officials.
Mr. Anutin opened the event by respectfully thanking the people of Nakhon Sawan as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party for granting the party five members of parliament. He expressed a deep sense of gratitude and promised that the MPs from Nakhon Sawan represent the people, not themselves. Therefore, they must perform their duties to serve the residents of Nakhon Sawan and all Thai citizens, working to bring prosperity to both their hometown and the nation.
The Prime Minister also extended New Year greetings in Chinese, saying “Xin Jia Yu Yi, Xin Ni Hua De.” Afterwards, officials presented the orb for the Prime Minister to feed into the lion's mouth to officially open the grand ceremony. He chose the blue orb instead of the usual red one.
