Ink Panthongtharn, accompanied by her husband, visited Thaksin Shinawatra and said he sang the song "Let It Be" after learning the 2026 election results. His lawyer is preparing to sue those who defame Thaksin. Regarding parole, Thaksin is not pressing the matter and will accept whatever rights he is granted.
At 10:00 a.m. on 12 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Panthongtharn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, together with Mr. Pitak Suksawat, her husband, visited Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister, her father, accompanied by Mr. Winyat Chatmontri, his personal lawyer, who joined as a family representative at Klong Prem Central Prison.
After the visit ended at 10:40 a.m., Ms. Panthongtharn revealed they discussed the election results with her father. When reporters asked if Thaksin was satisfied with the election results for the Pheu Thai Party, Ms. Panthongtharn said he did not comment but sang "Let It Be" by The Beatles, reflecting feelings he had expressed while campaigning in 2012.
Regarding whether she asked about the party's future direction, Ms. Panthongtharn said no. She only shared normal updates about the country, then he sang "Let It Be," and that was it. As for his health, everything is normal.
Mr. Winyat said they did not talk much today to allow private family time. He reported on the case and legal actions against those spreading false information before the election. Although they preferred not to act before the election, now they will exercise the right to sue some individuals. There is no progress on other matters. The accusations seen on social media involve claims about "grey capital" and alleged Chinese government arrests linked to foreign funds, insinuating Thaksin's involvement. He will definitely pursue legal action as these are baseless allegations. Thaksin has never been involved; these are fabrications harming the country and him personally. Initially, they did not want to affect the pre-election atmosphere, but rumors continue to discredit him and the Pheu Thai Party.
When asked if he knows who spread these rumors, Mr. Winyat said he knows but is deciding whom to sue. He understands those who irresponsibly spread falsehoods, but society should not tolerate this. He urges people to watch closely. Regarding Thaksin’s health, it has improved. Although he had some issues with blood pressure, a personal condition, he is currently managing and taking good care of himself, appearing cheerful. On the matter of royal pardons and parole, there is no update; everything follows legal procedures. Thaksin is not rushing and will accept whatever rights he is entitled to.
