Theng Visits People’s Party Office, Requests Meeting Before Commenting on Whether to Replace Entire Executive Committee

“Theng Natthapong” arrived at the People’s Party office and said he would hold a meeting first after being asked whether the entire executive committee would be replaced. This follows the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) indicting 44 former Move Forward MPs. If the Supreme Court accepts the case, it may affect his role as opposition leader.

At 10:00 a.m. on 12 Feb 2026 GMT+7. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People’s Party and prime ministerial candidate, arrived at the People’s Party office in the Future Forward building. Upon arrival, reporters asked if there would be an executive committee meeting today. Natthapong said he came for routine work. When asked about changing the party’s management team, he replied, “We need to discuss first. I will come down to give an interview later.”

Reporters noted that yesterday, Sarayut Jaithak, the People’s Party secretary-general, stated there would be a general party meeting between March and April, possibly including a full executive committee reshuffle. This raised questions about whether the party leader position would also change, since Natthapong is among the 44 former Move Forward MPs indicted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission for serious ethical violations. The case has been forwarded to the Supreme Court. If the court accepts it, Natthapong may have to suspend his duties, affecting his role as opposition leader in the House of Representatives. Observers are watching closely to see if a new party leader will be appointed to avoid disruption in party operations.
